Sage Roofing March Updates

As we move into March, there are a few areas to update you on including successes with work we are involved in, development of our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) as well as some charitable events that our employees are involved in.

Pride in the Job Awards

Sage Roofing is proud to announce that one of our jobs – Diglis Water has won second place in the National House Builders Registration (NHBC) Supreme Awards 2014 and First Place in the regional awards. Over the various phases at Diglis Water, we have worked on an array of aspects of the job including the roofing works, membrane details, PPC soffit and balcony fascias. We think that this proves what a high standard our company holds itself to, and we are delighted that our hard work has paid off in such a way.

‘Sage Reefing’ Updates

Next on the agenda is our reef. If you are new to this blog, Sage have invested in a coral reef project in the Maldives, this is a wonderful way for us to help the environment as one day this reef will become self sustaining. Coral reefs are hugely important as although they only take up 0.1% of the ocean floor, they are home to 25% of all marine species and considering how vast, diverse and enigmatic the ocean and its inhabitants are; it is a top priority to maintain and help this crucial ecosystem. We will also keep you updated with any updates we have on our reef.

Charity Events

Finally, some of Sage Roofing’s employees will be participating in a range of charity events in the coming months. Pete recently completed the Coventry Half Marathon for the Alzheimer’s Society on the 1st of March, a cause which is very important to him as loved ones have received help from this charity and they do very important work against this terrible disease.

After that, John will be tackling the Greater Manchester Marathon on the 19th of April in aid of the Christie Charity which is Europe’s largest single site cancer centre. They offer unprecedented research, support and care for hundreds of thousands of people battling against cancer every year.

On 31st of May Rebecca and Pete will be traversing the ‘Tough Mudder’ obstacle course. It will be Peter’s second attempt at the event and Rebecca’s first! The event is a military style obstacle course between 10 and 12 miles battling through fire, electricity, Ice, plenty of mud and a new addition for this year’s event – tear gas! The event is in support of the Help for Heroes charity.
