Silbury Boulevard (Solstice apartments)
The Solstice apartments are a brand new apartment block based a short walk from the centre of Milton Keynes offering communal areas such as a fitness area, rooftop terraces a resident’s lounge and a shared garden courtyard. The main contractor on the project was United Living and Sage were involved in the full building envelope of the roofing and cladding works. To the various roof areas, we installed inverted IKO Permatec hot melt roofing systems, with some being used as terraces and roof gardens.
We were involved with the design, supply and installation of the steel framing system (SFS) and the comprehensive installation of a horizontal and vertical fire protection system in accordance with British standards and independently assessed by external fire protection specialists (IFC).
The external walls are clad in two Sotech Optima rainscreen cladding systems. One is an aluminium interlocking plank system and the other is a PPC aluminium cassette rainscreen cladding system with Rockwool insulation for optimum thermal performance.

To achieve Carbon Neutral status we pay Climatecare to reduce the equivalent amount of CO2 in another part of the world by investing that money into emission reduction projects replacing fuel hungry inefficient technologies with efficient low-carbon technologies in developing countries. Take a look at the Climatecare website to see the advances being made; from the simple provision of efficient cooking stoves to full blown wind and hydro power schemes.
